WanderNebraska: History You Can Experience

That’s the idea behind WanderNebraska. While many people think of historical sites as places that simply preserve the past, the reality is that these sites are often at the heart of their communities today. This year’s WanderNebraska program features 254 sites across the state, each offering a unique perspective on Nebraska’s people, places, and culture. Some tell stories that span centuries. Others highlight more recent chapters in Nebraska’s story. All of them remind us that history is not confined to a textbook.
When you visit a local museum, historical society, cultural center, or historic landmark, you’re not just learning about what happened there years ago. You’re helping ensure those stories remain relevant and accessible for future generations.
